QDOS STUDIO Qdos studios were established in 1972 on the current Qdos site in Allenvale Road. A strong feature of the Qdos Studio is the creative exploration of clay as an sculptural medium. The studio features a 9 metre long wood firing ANAGAMA kiln. The kiln is fired twice a year and is a 6 day event. This process develops a bed of fly ash on the work in the kiln before the final temperature of 1350c is reached. A task force of up to twelve people is required to conduct a firing, students gathered from the ceramics related institutes around Australia and ceramic artists interested in wood firing also join in.
